Adobe has released the Photoshop Express application for Windows 8 and RT devices with a touch-friendly user interface and basic photo-editing tools.
Adobe Photoshop Express is a popular editing program for iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Windows 8 and RT have been released less than a year ago and everybody has been wondering why Adobe is not launching a version for these operating systems as well.
Adobe Photoshop Express now available as a free download for Windows 8 and RT devices
The wait is over now, as Adobe has finally released Photoshop Express for Windows 8 and RT, allowing users to edit photos, apply filters, and sync the image library across multiple devices.
Adobe Photoshop Express will work on all Windows 8 devices, but its interface has been optimized for touch-enabled gadgets, like the Microsoft Surface.
Just like the iOS and Android versions, users will be able to syncronize their library through the Adobe Revel platform. This service is great as users can start editing their photos on a Windows 8 device, then resume the work on an iPhone, Android device, Mac OS X computer, or on any other gadget compatible with Revel.
Basic editing tools providing minor changes and few filters
Adobe Photoshop Express is not a fully-featured app, though it can handle the most basic editing functions, such as crop, rotate, red-eye removal, flip, and straighten among others.
Moreover, users can adjust the white balance, contrast, and exposure, while an auto-correct option is also available to fix the contrast, brightness, and color.
After that, editors can apply filters and effects from a list of over 15, with many more expected to come in future updates.
