The CRBE Urban Photographer of the Year 2014 photo contest has revealed its winners, who have captured amazing photos of people working at different times of the day.
Street photography is one of the handiest types of shooting, as you simply have to pick up a camera and to take photos while walking around town. However, it is also one of the hardest to do because it usually consists of taking photos of complete strangers, who might not want to be captured on camera.
There are numerous talented photographers out there who know how to capture everyday life, making viewers feel like they are part of the shot, and you can find a lot of them in the CRBE Urban Photographer of the Year 2014 photo contest.
As a tribute to street photography, the CRBE Group has organized the Urban Photographer of the Year 2014 competition, which is aiming to find the best artists who are capable of showing the “built environment” in its full glory.
The winners of the contest have been announced and the photos are simply astounding!
Marius Vieth is the CRBE Urban Photographer of the Year 2014
The overall winner is Marius Vieth from Germany with a photo called “Mask of Society”. This shot suits the “cities at work” theme of the contest by revealing a woman arranging some items in a jewelry store, where a mask is also residing.
The winner of the EMEA region is Carlos da Costa Branco from Portugal with a photo of a policeman performing his duties. Furthermore, the Americas region has been won by Johanna Siegmann with an impressive indoor photo called “Buffer Zone”.
The best photo of the Asia Pacific region has been captured by Ly Hoang Long, which depicts net menders in Vietnam.
Youth categories have also been in place, with Sarah Scarborough winning the 13-15 years old category, while Szabolcs Simo has won the 16-25 year old category.

The CRBE Group has also invited photographers to send their best urban shots of people working at different hours of the day. All 24 photos are examples of great artistic vision proving that the winners are duly-deserving their awards.
From surgeons performing an operation at 3AM to people working in a fish market at 10AM, the Urban Photographer of the Year 2014 contest has produced to show us the world through a different set of eyes.
