Panasonic has announced a new versatile lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras in the body of the Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. Power O.I.S.
Weathersealed cameras require a lens with similar construction in order to make sure that they will not be hurt by dust, splashes or moisture. In anticipation of the CP+ 2016 event, Panasonic is introducing a weathersealed lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras.
The Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. Power O.I.S. lens is the company’s latest zoom optic that delivers impressive optical performance. Versatility is also a big plus as the lens is suitable for a myriad of scenarios, from landscape to portrait photography.
Panasonic announces versatile 12-60mm lens for Micro Four Thirds cameras
The manufacturer says that its new zoom lens is perfect for all-weather conditions. Despite its ruggedness, the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. Power O.I.S. lens will allow users to capture sharp images and high-quality videos.
Its maximum aperture may not be the fastest on the market, but your photos will not be blurry and your videos will not wobble, as the lens is compatible with Dual Image Stabilization technology.
Cameras shakes are neutralized by the Dual IS system, so that photographers will capture high-quality footage even in low-light conditions. When mounted on Micro Four Thirds cameras, the lens will offer a full-frame equivalent of 24-120mm.
Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. Power O.I.S. lens supports 240fps high-speed AF
Panasonic has added an inner focusing mechanism in its latest zoom lens. As usual, this means that the front element does not rotate when the lens is focusing. Additionally, the autofocus drive consists of a stepping motor that delivers quick, quiet focusing.
Cameras with high-speed AF support are compatible with the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 12-60mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. Power O.I.S. lens, meaning that the motor supports up to 240fps. As stated above, this optic is good for video, too, and it will provide superior image quality that handles 4K video recording with ease.
The lens features 11 elements in 9 groups. Three elements are aspherical, while one is an Extra Low Dispersion glass in order to reduce chromatic aberration. On the other hand, flare and ghosting are kept to the minimum by multi-coated elements.
A minimum focusing distance of 20 centimeters is listed on the optic’s specs list. As for the availability details, Panasonic will release the lens this Mary for a price of $499.99.
