A new Fujifilm X-T1 rumor is circling around the web, this time saying that the weathersealed X-mount mirrorless camera will feature a tilting screen.
Time passes by quicker with so many rumors showing up on a daily basis. However, people who are looking to buy one of the upcoming cameras are probably spinning in circles right now and they might increase the pace once they hear the latest intel on the Fujifilm X-T1.
New Fujifilm X-T1 rumor hints at tilting screen
As we are getting close to the announcement of the weathersealed X-mount camera, gossip talks are claiming that the device will come packed with a tilting display, sources have revealed.
We have seen more and more shooters featuring an articulated screen, such as the Olympus E-M1, Panasonic GX7, and Sony A5000. Despite this little fact, Fujifilm has provided only one X-series camera with such capability: the low-end X-M1, which costs $649 at Amazon.
If it were to trust these alleged leaks, then the X-T1 will become the first of its kind to sport a tilting / articulated display. The launch event is rumored to take place on January 28, the date when we will find out whether this is true or not.
Weathersealed Fuji X-T1 leaked specs review
Meanwhile, it would be great to take another look at what inside sources have been leaking during the past few weeks. The Fuji X-T1 will allegedly feature a Fujica ST-based design with a large and high-performance electronic viewfinder placed in the top middle area on its back.
The weatherproof shooter will capture photos using a 16.3-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS II sensor, the same as the one found in the X-E2. It will be able to autofocus faster than the X-E2 and to take 8fps in continuous shooting mode with AF tracking enabled.
This will be possible thanks to the UHS-II SD card technology which supports very fast writing speeds. At first it has been believed that there will be two SD card slots in the mirrorless camera, but more reliable sources have debunked the allegation.
An extra battery grip will be available for photographer who choose to take photos with a Fujifilm X-T1 camera.
As for the price, it is believed that it will roam between the prices of the X-E and X-Pro series. The X-E2 costs $999 at Amazon, while the X-Pro1 is available for $1,078, down from $1,199.95, so we could assume that the X-T1 will retail for somewhere between $1,050 and $1,099.
