Sony A6000 is rumored to be the camera that will replace both the NEX-6 and NEX-7, one day before CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2014.
Now that both the Fujifilm X-T1 and Olympus E-M10 have been announced, the industry’s most rumored camera has become the one which will replace the NEX-6 and NEX-7.
Sony is rumored to hold a product launch event one day before the CP+ Camera & Photo Imaging Show 2014. Sources are reporting that February 12 is the day when we get to see the new flagship APS-C E-mount shooter.
A long time ago it has been said that it might be called Sony A7000. However, trusted sources are reporting that the mirrorless interchangeable lens camera will go on sale as Sony A6000 and its design is reminiscent of the NEX-6.

Photographers have always appreciated the design of the NEX-7, but it seems like the PlayStation maker has other plans for the time being. The new A6000 will become official on February 12 and will feature a 24.3-megapixel image sensor, similar to the current NEX-7 version, source says.
The difference is that the new model sports on-sensor image stabilization technology, that might have been borrowed from the Olympus OM-D camera, following the partnership between the two companies.
The release date and price are not mentioned, but it is very unlikely that something has changed since the last time we have spoken about them. This means that you can expect to buy it this spring for approximately $950.
Flagship APS-C E-mount camera to feature fast AF speeds and no-lag EVF
In recent times, inside sources have revealed that the upcoming Sony APS-C E-mount shooter will be powered by the Bionz X processor. This engine should provide faster autofocus and continuous shooting mode.
Additionally, the electronic viewfinder has been improved, so that users will not experience any lag during photo composition. The Sony A6000 mirrorless camera will offer increased speed when compared to its predecessors.
Sony A79 to substitute A77 in time for NAB Show 2014
Some more whispers regarding the company’s future have surfaced, too, revealing that new cameras are coming this year. The A-mount Sony A79, that replaces the A77, will be unveiled in March 2014 before the National Association of Broadcasters 2014 event (NAB Show).
On the other hand, an E-mount mirrorless camera that looks like the NEX-7 might be introduced at the Photokina 2014. It is still too early to raise your expectations, so take this with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more details!
