A new Fujifilm mirrorless camera is rumored to be announced in the near future, as Fujifilm Bangladesh has confirmed that another X-system MILC is coming “very soon”.
Only a short while has passed since the last time Fujifilm introduced an X-series mirrorless interchangeable lens camera.
The Fuji X-T1 has become the first weathersealed shooter of the X-mount and it is attracting a lot of customers, despite a manufacturing issue causing light to hit the sensor when the lid covering the microphone, HDMI, and the USB ports is open.
Fujifilm Bangladesh reveals that a new Fujifilm X-series mirrorless camera could be unveiled “very soon”
The X-T1 is a new shooter, but this does not mean that the Japan-based company is not working on another one. A fan of Fujifilm Bangladesh’s Facebook page has asked whether the manufacturer will release a new X-system MILC with an optical viewfinder.
Although such questions usually go unnoticed or are ignored by the admins, it seems like Fujifilm Bangladesh has spotted this one and has even answered it. According to the company’s Bangladesh division
New Fuji MILC could feature hybrid viewfinder and could be the Fujifilm X-Pro2
The aforementioned statement comes from an official channel and more than a day has passed since it was posted. This means that it has not been an accidental confirmation and we will actually witness the announcement of another Fujifilm X-series MILC in the neighboring future.
Although Fuji Bangladesh has acknowledged the fact that a shooter is on its way, it does not mean that it will feature an optical viewfinder. The statement does not confirm this, although two years have passed since the unveiling of the Fujifilm X-Pro1.
The rumor mill has talked about the Fujifilm X-Pro2 in the past, a MILC that would feature an improved sensor and enhanced hybrid viewfinder (optical + electronic). However, no new details have been leaked in recent times so it would be better to take this with a pinch of salt.
Units affected by Fujifilm X-T1 light leak issue to be repaired free of charge
In the meantime, Fujifilm has acknowledged that the X-T1 cameras has a “light leak” issue. Only a few units are affected and they consist of the models with a serial number between 41002001 and 41006000.
Users have discovered that light hits the image sensor when the lid covering the microphone/remote, miniHDMI, and USB 2.0 ports is open. This renders photos useless and the company is asking users to send in their cameras, which will be repaired free of charge.
