The Samsung NX Mini 2 mirrorless camera has been leaked on the web by a Dutch store along with its specifications, photos, and price tag.
There is something that is becoming a familiar sight for the fans of the digital imaging world. We are talking about Samsung cameras being leaked on the web and being put up for sale before their official announcements.
The latest model to become a “victim” of the leaks is the Samsung NX Mini 2, which has appeared on the website of a Dutch store selling cameras, lenses, and other photo products. Along with its photos, the store is including the specs and the device’s price tag.
Dutch store reveals Samsung NX Mini 2 ahead of time
The Samsung NX Mini mirrorless camera has been introduced as a competitor to Nikon’s 1-inch-type series. For a while, it has competed against the 1 J4, but Nikon has revealed the 1J5 earlier this year, a shooter that records 4K videos. Samsung’s answer has been leaked by CameraNu, a Dutch store which has put that camera up for pre-order.
NX Mini’s successor is called NX Mini 2 and it offers a few improvements over the current generation. It features the same 20.5-megapixel 1-inch-type sensor, but now it is capable of recording 4K videos.
The specs list of the upcoming camera includes a new 3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen that can be tilted upwards in order to allow users to frame their selfies with ease. Moreover, the D-pad now comes with a scroll-wheel.
Another difference consists of the interchangeable front cover. Users can now swap an extra thing along with the lenses. The camera comes with a black front cover, but it appears that it can be easily changed with a red one, albeit we should not rule out other colors.
Samsung NX Mini 2 to have price tag similar to its predecessor
The remainder of the Samsung NX Mini 2 specs list will include RAW support, manual modes, 400-shot battery life, built-in flash, and a continuous shooting mode of up to 6fps.
This mirrorless camera will offer an ISO sensitivity range between 160 and 25,600, as well as a shutter speed range between 30 seconds and 1/16000s. Its flash X-sync speed is rated at 1/200s.
Just like in the previous model, the NX Mini 2 will feature built-in WiFi and NFC for quick file transfer to a smartphone or tablet. Wink Shot is there, too, and it means that users can wink at the camera, when in selfie mode, and the camera will capture a photo.
CameraNu is listing the mirrorless camera at €449, a price that includes the 9mm f/3.5 ED lens. This is the same price as its predecessor and it could mean that the kit will cost $449 in the US. Stay with us for the official announcement!
